Adam Small serves as our Food Scientist, charged with Business Development for the SilverLine. His main responsibility is to work with customers to reach the desired characteristics they are looking for in their products. This includes collaborating with internal and external customers to generate solutions, adjusting finish product formulas and even troubleshooting equipment.
He has more than 20 years of food research/food science experience, working for major brands as well as private labels. Adam also had his own business as a Consulting Product Developer, specializing in the formulation, processing, and commercialization of baked goods, meats, soups, sauces, dressings, seasonings, refrigerated salads and processed cheese.
Adam earned his undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech in Food Science and Technology with a minor in Chemistry, and his master’s from Kansas State University in Food Science & Grain Science.
When he’s not at work, Adam enjoys brewing beer, woodworking, beekeeping, gardening, raising kids, and running kids around for sports.
